Calculation Engineer

    Mission

    As part of a job opening, we are looking for a Design Engineer. Reporting to the Operations Director/Engineering Office Manager, your main tasks will be :

    • You will provide support to projects and to the armament department, responding to technical requests and producing deliverables (calculation notes, drawings, etc.) for internal use or for external customers.

    • You will carry out studies and dimensioning of steel mechanical structures using finite elements, according to the needs of our customers and projects (loading ramps, gantries, lashing interfaces between the deck and on-board equipment, submerged pipes). You will have knowledge of offshore industry standards (DNVGL, BV, Eurocode, etc.) as well as naval architecture

    • You will carry out 3D modelling using surface (Rhino) and volume (Solidworks) software, as well as simplified pre-sizing calculations (Excel, etc.).

    • You will carry out stability and structural studies for the company's ships and modular barges (ModelMaker, AutoHydro, Excel).

    • You will carry out installation analysis calculations (lifting/deployment, cable and pipeline installation) and carry out anchoring studies using Orcaflex. You will take part in the design of CBM/MBM type mooring devices.

    • You will be motivated to follow up major projects in the field or on board vessels.

    • You will help to prepare/draft technical bids in French and English, in liaison with the sales department.

    Job location: The position is based in Aix-en-Provence (13), with occasional travel.

    Profil

    Education: Engineering degree or equivalent with a structural and materials or naval architecture component.

    Software: Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCad and Orcaflex.

    Experience: 5 years' experience in the maritime field, offshore industry with on-site experience.

    Languages spoken : Fluent English.

    Qualities: Availability, pragmatism, responsiveness, dynamism, rigour. You have good interpersonal skills, a flair for teamwork and a keen sense of curiosity.
