IT Engineer

Als IT Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor de IT-systemen aan boord van de Acta by Jifmar werkboten. Je coördineert de dagelijkste IT-werkzaamheden en voert wijzigingen door en lost incidenten op met betrekking tot de IT-systemen aan boord, hetzij op afstand of fysiek aanwezig.

Ondersteunde IT-systemen betreffen communicatiesystemen zoals satelliet (Starlink, VSAT, Iridium) en cellulaire (4G/5G) connectiviteit, TVRO/IPTV-systemen, LAN/Wi-Fiinfrastructuur, (IP-gebaseerde) CCTV, en Microsoft Windows-computers met Microsoft 365 en diverse scheep specifieke applicaties. Verder ben je verantwoordelijk voor:

• Bewaking van beschikbaarheid van IT-infrastructuur en communicatiesystemen;

• Bewaking van de serviceniveaus van IT-leveranciers;

• IT-wijzigingen uitvoeren;

• Onderhoud IT-documentatie en -administratie;

• Begeleiding bieden aan klanten tijdens mobilisatie en demobilisatie van de vloot;

• Inkopen van IT hard- en software volgens het inkoopbeleid van de organisatie.

As IT Engineer, you will be responsible for the IT systems on board the Acta by Jifmar workboats. You will coordinate the daily IT work and implement changes and resolves incidents related to the IT systems on board, either remotely or physically present.

Supported IT systems include communication systems such as satellite (Starlink, VSAT, Iridium) and cellular (4G/5G) connectivity, TVRO/IPTV systems, LAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure, (IP-based) CCTV, and Microsoft Windows computers with Microsoft 365 and various ship-specific applications. Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring availability of IT infrastructure and communication systems;

• Monitoring service levels of IT suppliers;

• Implementing IT changes;

• Maintain IT documentation and records;

• Provide guidance to customers during fleet mobilisation and demobilisation;

• Procurement of IT hardware and software as per the organisation's procurement policy.

What we require

A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.

Furthermore, you bring:

• IT degree at MBO4/HBO level;

• Experience as an All-round System Administrator;

• Attention to detail and accuracy;

• Hands-on mentality;

• Willing to travel abroad;

• Willing to work from home, office or a seagoing vessel;

• Able to communicate effectively and clearly in both Dutch and English;

• Dutch (level B) driving license.
